I am 13 weeks along and they just found a fibroid tumor. The doctor told me that because it is not located in the back of the placenta, I should be able to have a normal pregancy. It is approximately 4 cm. in diameter. Is this correct?

Most cases of fibroids in pregnancy cause no problems. There's the theoretical risk of preterm labor, but typically you should expect to go to term. Subsequent ultrasounds can make sure it doesn't get too big. More than likely it'll seem to shrink as compared to your large uterus.
