Q&A: I have been diagnosed with phospholipid antibody syndrome and want to know how it affects fertility.
I have recently been diagnosed with phospholipid antibody syndrome. I had a number of tests done after suffering my third miscarriage at 14 weeks. It has not been determined if I do indeed have Lupus as my mother does.
I am 20 years old, and my husband and I really want to try to have children. What are my odds of having a baby since I have these health conditions? Is there something that we should be doing? I also found out at the last visit that my doctor (who followed my last pregnancy as well) hasn't graduated from medical school yet! Should I be seeing a specialist?
Sorry if this all seems jumbled up. I am a little stressed about this whole situation as my due date would have been this week. Thank you for your time.
This is a condition that can increase your risk of miscarriage, so yes, see an infertility specialist who is familiar with antiphospholipid as it relates to miscarriage. He or she can help you.
