Wondering how Jessica Alba lost her baby weight? The celebrity mom shares her secrets—Twitter style!

The Scoop

How do celebrity moms snap back into shape so quickly after having a baby? Thanks to Twitter and the willingness of one star to spill some of her new mom shape-up secrets, we may finally have an answer. A few weeks after giving birth to baby Honor, Jessica Alba started to let her followers in on her post-pregnancy weight loss plans:

"I did my first day of workout since I had the baby, just cardio for 40 min. -it's a start. Anyone else starting a fitness regimen?" Alba tweets.

"My doctor told me I could start after 2 weeks. -I'm going light, stationary bike and elliptical," the mom of two later adds.

What else is Alba up to? She's tweeted about starting her week by taking a "dirty and smelly" hike around the Hollywood hills and working her way up to 30 minutes of cardio interval training and circuit training with light weights—at least four times a week.

She's also reaching out to other new moms with some easy-to-follow tips. "Start with walking, and throw in 3 sets of lunges 20 per leg," tweets the multi-tasking celebrity mom. "You could even do it while strolling your baby."

Healthy Diet

A revamped diet is also part of Alba's weight plans and she's tweeting tips on healthy weight loss, too. "I have a hard time with portion control, so I have 1,200 calorie meals delivered" she tweets. Can't afford door-to-door delivery from a personal chef? "I would keep your diet as healthy as possible 6 days a week and give yourself one day to indulge," Alba advises her followers.

We love that a busy star is so willing to share and we love that Alba also admits when her new-mom diet and exercise plan gets tossed out the window, like this recent gem:

"watching boxing -eating thai take out n browsing fashion and design blogs -perfect Sat night!"

Now what new mom would disagree?
