Q&A: Are there any pre-natal vitamins without vitamin A?

by Dr. Gerard M. DiLeo

I am concerned about vitamin A, as it is rated 125% of the daily value in my current pre-natal vitamins. There's also a synthetic form of vitamin A in some of the foods I have been eating. Are there any pre-natal vitamins without vitamin A?

Ther-RX is a company which makes pre-natal vitamins with just the essentials, like Folic Acid and iron. However, you're right in that too much Vitamin A is harmful to the baby; but you're wrong in that taking a major brand pre-natal vitamin with a normal diet will give you too much (unless you live totally on carrots).

Ask your doctor about the Ther-RX brand.
