Q&A: I have groin pain when I sneeze, could I be pregnant?

by Dr. Gerard M. DiLeo

I keep having a pain in my groin every time I sneeze or cough too hard. I thought it could be ovarian cysts but my doctor says it's nothing, just ovulatory pain, but I have it all month long. I think I might be pregnant and worry about this.

It could be that your uterus is somewhat relaxed in your pelvis, and the sudden exertion jostles it, twanging the ligaments that are supposed to hold it in place. Or it could be bladder spasm from a similar jolt. Either way, it's harmless.
