I recently started to exprience an irregular cycle so I visited my doctor, who performed a pelvic exam where she determined I was possibly pregnant. She gave me a urine test that came back negative. Since then, I've been expriencing strong PMS—at least that's what I think it is, but it could also be pregnacy symptoms. I'm confused and anxious about conceiving. Can you help me please?

I'd recommend a quantitative hCG test, to once and for all rule in or rule out pregnancy. The Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) hormones are produced by the placenta and traces of the hormones can be detected with a blood test. The urine tests are pretty good, but the absolute best is the blood work for hCG. Early pregnancy (even so early as to still be negative on a urine test) can mimic PMS symptoms, so your confusion is not unreasonable.
