Q&A: I have questions about how far along I actually am.

I am a bit confused about how far along I am. My last menses was August 19. I had my blood drawn and they say I am 1-2 weeks along since conception. When saying how far along I am is it 2 weeks or 4 weeks?

Pregnancy lasts 40 weeks. Since most women can not pinpoint the exact day of conception, doctor's go by the first day of your last period to determine how far along you are. In using this method, you become pregnant during the third week. You currently are in your 4th week of pregnancy; however, the fetus is 2 weeks old.
