I wanted to know your thoughts on 3D ultrasounds, I got a free ultrasound and it was very cool to get the baby's profile so detailed however is a research company and they have asked me to come back. However, I am not so sure if it is ok and if it hurts or bothers the baby at all. This might feel like exposing the baby too much.

You're probably okay if it's done by an obstetrician, or a nurse practitioner or ultrasound tech under the supervision of an obstetrician. If no such credentialed person is involved in this, you need to ask who's responsible. If there is no such person, stay away.
