I'm 18 weeks pregnant and did not have the tri test done. Is it too late for me to have it? Also, are there any other tests that check for down syndrome that I can have after 18 weeks?

You can have this test up to about 21 weeks. If it's missed, a level 3 ultrasound is usually good at picking out those at risk.
