Q&A: I am 23 weeks pregnant with my first child. Should I be concerned with not feeling movement all the time?

by Dr. Gerard M. DiLeo

I am 23 weeks pregnant with my first child. While I have definately felt movements everyday they are not consistent, and some are stronger than others. Should I be concerned with not feeling movement all the time? Sometimes I don't feel the first movement of the day until late afternoon.

23 weeks is a little tricky to feel all of the movements, because your baby just isn't big enough to muster enough strength to be felt each time.

I would only be concerned if the overall movement gets less than the day before.
