Q&A: Is it safe to travel while pregnant?

by Marie O'Sullivan, RN

I plan on traveling in my 24th week. So far no complications with pregnancy. I am taking a 4 day cruise with my sister. We will be flying from Boston to Florida and then cruising for 3 nights. I was wondering if this is safe and if it is safe to sit out in the sun if I use a 15 sunblock and have lots of water.

Traveling should be no problem if you have had a normal pregnancy. Remember to discuss your travel plans with your OB and find out if he/she has any concerns. The following link will answer your suntan question: Is it Safe to get a Suntan While Pregnant?
