Is it possible to get your period after conception?
-
After you have conceived, you may experience minimal bleeding or spotting but the flow should not be as heavy as your regular period.
If you're experiencing bleeding, this may be the result of implantation. Once the fertilized egg makes its way to the uterus and begins to nestle in, some women may experience some cramping and even mild pain, which may be confused with period cramps. The other symptom some moms may experience may include some light bleeding. Generally, bleeding as a result of implantation will be light brown or even pink tinged, but is generally not the heavy, bright red bleeding you may be accustomed to each month.
If you are pregnant and experiencing some vaginal bleeding, check in with your doctor or midwife. Abnormal and heavy bleeding may be the result of an ectopic pregnancy which can be dangerous, so call for a checkup immediately upon bleeding.
