The safety buckle may open unexpectedly, which poses a falling hazard.

A Circo booster seat is being recalled by Target because of a possible falling hazard. If you purchased this seat, return it to the nearest Target store for a full refund.

Recall Reason

According to Target and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), there have been several reports of the safety restraint buckles on the Circo booster seat opening unexpectedly, and a few reports of injury. Without a safety restraint, a child may fall from the chair.

The Circo booster seat involved in the recall is blue plastic, with green trim and white safety straps. Each seat has a manufcature date code printed on the backside of the seat next to the consumer warning information. Look for codes XJ0811, XJ0812, XJ0901, and XJ0902. This seat was sold nationwide at Target stores from December 2008 through June 2009, for about $13.

Whom to Contact

Consumers should stop using the recalled booster seats immediately and return the item to the nearest Target store for a full refund. A receipt or proof of purchase is not necessary to return a recalled product to a Target store.
