October 7, 2010: Green Mountain Vista Inc. Recalls Roman Shades

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Green Mountain Vista, Inc. of Williston, Vt., today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Strangulations can occur when a child places his/her neck between the exposed inner cord and the fabric on the backside of the shade or when a child pulls the cord out and wraps it around his/her neck.

This recall involves all Green Mountain Vista Roman shades. These shades have a small sewn-on label on the back side of the shade with RN#107875.

Specialty home textile retail shops and mail order companies nationwide from September 2004 through August 2010 for between $40 and $120. The shades were manufactured in China.
