January 3, 2014: Combi Recalls Coccoro, Zeus Turn and Zeus 360 Car Seats
Combi USA, Inc. has announced a voluntary recall of the Coccoro, Zeus Turn and Zeus 360 car seats. About 33,000 units are being recalled.
What’s the Deal?
Combi has determined that the harnesses on their Coccoro, Zeus Turn and Zeus 360 car seats do not meet federal safety requirements. The straps on the three models did not meet minimum strength requirements, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. There have been no reports of injuries or accidents.
Do You Own It?
The recall involves car seats from the Coccoro, Zeus Turn and Zeus 360 product lines. The model numbers are 8220 for Coccoro made between January 6, 2009 and December 5, 2012, 8815 for Zeus Turn made between July 15, 2007 and March 25, 2009, and 8836 for Zeus 360 made between February 25, 2009 and May 24, 2012. The company is mailing out notices to those consumers who have registered these car seats.
The car seats where sold in-store and online at Amazon, Walmart, Babies “R” Us, Toys “R” Us, Target and others for a range of prices.
What Should You Do?
If you own one of the affected car seats, Combi advises consumers to continue use of them until the repair kit arrives. The company will begin sending out repair kits in February.
