Q&A: Is it normal to cramp after an embryo transfer?

I had an embryo transfer three days ago and now I'm experiencing some aching and cramping in my lower abdomen. Is this normal? Could it mean anything?

Any "instrumentation" of the uterus can cause it to cramp, so yes, this is normal. But cramping also means contractions, and your doctors would hope for things to quiet down soon.
