Have been trying since September to get pregnant. We have had no problems in the past with pregnancy. Thought I was pregnant in October then got what I believe was my normal period a week late. All HPT's are negative to date. Decided to use ovulation kit this month and have been testing every other day since day 11 of my cycle and no LH surge yet and it is now day 20 of my cycle. Do you have any thoughts on what might be going on?

This is just one cycle, and since an irregular cycle every now and then is a common complaint in women--especially those stressed to conceive--I don't think you've given yourself a decent enough time span to conceive. Even when everything's perfect, there's only a 1 in 4 chance of conceiving, and these numbers are less the older you are. The fact that you've been pregnant before means you CAN do it and probably WILL do it, given enough time. As a guideline, if you go more than 6 months without conceiving, it's time to seek an infertility work-up. And if your period is late and you're not pregnant, you need to contact your doctor to rule out an ovarian cyst, which can be harmless but put the whole cycle on hold for a time, confusing everyone.
