The weekend rolls around and you're faced with yet another birthday party. When you become a parent, the number of children in your life seems to grow exponentially, as do the number of gifts you're required to bring to each of their birthday parties.
How do you find the perfect gift for each occasion? Our age-by-age guide will give you some ideas for great gifts that won't bust your budget.
Third and Fourth Birthdays
Puzzles – Preschoolers are at just the right age to begin tackling more challenging games. Puzzles teach problem-solving skills, as well as hand-eye coordination. Peg puzzles with large pieces are easiest to master, then kids can move up to more complicated jigsaw puzzles.
Bubble fun pack – Remember how much fun we used to have with just a tiny plastic wand and some bubble liquid? Today, bubble packs come filled with a variety of bubble-blowing gizmos and gadgets, and most still ring in at under $10.
Doodler – An erasable doodler pad lets kids draw, erase, and draw again as many times as they want. With a doodler, kids can't make a mess, and their creativity is limited only by their imagination.
