Top Toddler Toys: BabyZone Picks Through the Years

Trying to choose the perfect toy for a toddler? Since 2000, BabyZone editors have worked with toy manufacturers large and small to have real families test their newest, most innovative toys.

Each spring, we invite 100+ manufacturers to submit their newest and coolest baby and toddler products of the year. We then pass those submissions to our panel of test moms and their kids (0 to 24 months, depending on the product's age recommendation), who use the toy in only the way a kid can! We give families several weeks to spend with the toy, giving them time to see how (and whether) their playtime develops with it.

Then families give us their candid feedback—was the toy a hit? A bust? What made it stand out among other playroom contenders? Which developmental skills did it encourage in their child? Could Mom or Dad see this toy being a longtime favorite among their kids? Only the toys that received highest tester remarks made our cut.
