How to Throw a Scrapbook Baby Shower
Want to turn the baby shower into a keepsake that will be treasured for a lifetime? Host a scrapbooking shower! Follow this guide and before you know it, you'll be cutting, pasting, laughing—and creating a priceless memory for your special mom-to-be!
Create a Guest List
How many people will be invited? The guest list will help you determine how many pages will be decorated. Think two pages per person.
Select Page Layouts
For samples of page layouts, look through scrapbook magazines. Visiting local scrapbook stores can also inspire page ideas. Consider big events like bringing home Baby. And dedicating a page to siblings or grandparents is also fun.
Now time to shop! Go to your local scrapbook store to purchase the items needed for the selected pages. To cut down on costs, ask your scrapbooking friends if you can borrow scissors, templates, markers, and circle-cutters.
Now let everybody know about the shower! The invitation should explain that guests will be creating a scrapbook to give as a gift for the new baby.
Separate each page layout into a bag that includes: album page; stickers/die cuts needed for the layout; photo splits (adhesive); photocopy of the page layout; and a list of anything else needed for the page, such as markers, circle cutter, etc.
The Big Day
The guests are arriving! Make sure each person has adequate workspace to complete the page layouts. Guests can select which page they would like to prepare. The honored guest can choose to work on a page or just relax and visit.
1. Make each page a two-page spread.
2. Guests can write a note on a blank page to be included in the album.
3. Give a blank page to the mom-to-be to take to the hospital. After Baby is born, have a nurse stamp his or her footprints directly onto the page.
