Ellie & Melissa LOVE... Unique Baby Shower Gifts!
Baby showers have changed over the years, but what hasn't changed is that the event is still all about showering the parents to be with gifts, love, and advice! So here's our advice on what bring to your next shower...
Babies need a lot of stuff, and that’s why bundling is a great gift. Fill a bathtub with all the necessities from shampoo to hooded towels. You can also bundle nursery necessities from medicine to diaper cream or baby’s first foods and include utensils, bibs, placemats, and more!
When it comes to shower gifts, the personal presents are often the ones most appreciated. Why not a coupon for a night of babysitting or for a homemade dinner, or better yet, a coupon that says you’ll take over the laundry and cleanup chores for a day!
Why not change up the gift ideas and put some of the focus on Dad-to-be! Dad bags are always a good option and filling it with baby necessities is an extra bonus for the dad on the go. One of our faves is daddy wear from personalized hospital scrubs to tees.
Getting Mom something she truly wants is a great shower pleaser. Cute designer hospital gowns are always a winner as are postpartum tummy compressors and massage oils. One of our go-to gifts for Mom is a beautiful diaper bag that will take her from drab to fab!
Bring a Book
What about the parents who have everything? Our advice is to suggest a “bring a book shower.” Presenting the parents-to-be with your favorite nursery rhyme book, board book, advice book, or even a book club favorite is always fun!
A gift certificate is oftentimes the perfect present. It allows you to stick to a budget, and the recipient gets to choose exactly what they want! It can be from the baby super store, an online store, or you can get creative with a restaurant certificate.
Babies poop, a lot! And whether you choose cloth or disposable you never seem to have enough. So why not bring the cake to the shower, in this case the diaper cake! We love these practical creations that turn diaper duty into beauty.
Saving money is definitely on our minds these days so a homemade gift is not only personal but practical as well. Booties, caps, and blankets make special presents or if you’re good with crafts try your hand at decorative pacifier clips or an embellished memory box.
Keepsake presents are unique in that they are meant to be kept and cherished for many years. Classic keepsakes can range from the high-end silver spoons, rattles, and picture frames, to less expensive hand/footprint kits and first tooth/curl boxes.
Remember the Registry
For some reason in an attempt to be unique we sometimes overlook the most obvious choice for gift—the registry. Keep in mind that while getting items off the registry might seem boring to you, there is a reason they’re there—the parents-to-be want them!
