Melissa Joan Hart's Pinterest-Inspired Party
I heart Pinterest and turns out, so does Melissa Joan Hart! The celebrity mom and former Sabrina star planned her youngest son Tucker’s “teddy bear picnic” first birthday party using ideas she found on the popular social network. She even created a pinboard for the party, which can be found here. Looks like a fab first birthday, Melissa!

David & Victoria Beckham Go Pink
Harper Seven is David and Victoria Beckham’s fourth child, but she’s their only daughter, which may explain this over-the-top first birthday. “The garden will be filled with big pink cuddly toys, pony rides, a bouncy castle, balloons and tons of cupcakes. It’ll be totally pink,” sources leaked to a British tabloid at the time. And that’s not even the over-the-top part! This is: “It sounds odd, but she’s even hiring special dyed-pink rabbits.”

Giuliana & Bill Rancic's Old West Roundup
Giuliana and Bill Rancic spared no expense in their cowboy-themed party to celebrate son Duke’s first birthday. The proud parents reportedly splurged on a petting zoo, a Crayola coloring station, and a mechanical bull. “We wanted to make sure he would look back on this in awe,” Giuliana told In Touch “We went over budget. We struggled for years to have baby Duke, and there’s nothing like the first birthday.” Too bad Duke probably won’t remember it!

Nicole Ritchie's Quiet Affair
Nicole Ritchie knows a good party is all about the guest list, so it’s little surprise that at son Sparrow’s first birthday, she invited a few choice celebrity moms and tots, including actress Ellen Pompeo of Grey’s Anatomy and her daughter Stella Luna, who is only one month younger than Sparrow. Ritchie and husband Joel Madden threw the bash in their backyard and decorated with red, green, orange, and purple “Happy Birthday” balloons for the occasion.

Jessica Simpson's Backyard Bash
By Hollywood standards, Jessica Simpson took a relatively low key approach when it came to celebrating daughter Maxwell’s first birthday. Maybe because she was six months pregnant with her second child at the time? Instead of a deluxe destination event, Simpson invited friends and family to come hang out in her backyard and enjoy face painting, coloring tables and a children’s band. The party’s main event? Cake time! Maxi’s first birthday was also the first time the tot ever tasted cake. Jessica had a special one made just for her.

Mariah Cary & Nick Cannon Party in Paris
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s twins Moroccan and Monroe celebrated their first birthdays at an elegant and sophisticated gathering…in Paris! Mariah was in the middle of some European concert dates, so the family settled on the City of Lights for #dembabies’ big bash. The couple glammed it up at a black-tie party where gifts for the tots included a toy Ferrari and a miniature white piano.

Beyonce & Jay Z
When Blue Ivy Carter turned one, rumor has it that Jay-Z and Beyoncé threw a lavish princess-themed bash that included around $95,000 worth of pink and white roses, an $80,000 diamond-encrusted Barbie, and an elaborate $2500 birthday cake. But that’s not all! If you were lucky enough to snag an invite, you were showered with gifts, just like the birthday girl. Adult guests received concert tickets and personalized gold pens engraved with Blue Ivy and each guest’s name. Kids received toys, princess costumes, cubby houses and jewelry sets. In comparison, the gift bags at my oldest child’s first birthday included a lollipop, some chocolate, and a candle.

Usher's Magic Carpet Ride
During better days for Usher and his ex-wife Tameka Raymond, the pair went all out for son Naviyd’s first birthday by planning an elaborate Aladdin-themed bash, complete with magic carpet seating, camel rides, face painting, henna tattoos, and a genie bottle cake! No word on whether or not Robin Williams showed up.

Tori Spelling's Ladybug Disaster
When it was time for daughter Stella’s first birthday, crafty mom Tori Spelling went to town creating a ladybug themed party, complete with a giant ladybug cake. However, toddling Stella crashed headfirst into the cake and proceeded to roll around in the frosting (hey, it tastes good!). As one guest reported, “Tori had to wash her off with one of the sprinklers!”

From under the boardwalk to under the big top, Snooki recently celebrated son Lorenzo’s first birthday with a circus-themed party, complete with tents, games, an animal petting zoo, and a three layer (and three ring) cake. “I chose the circus theme because I feel it fits best for throwing a huge first birthday bash—you can have animals, games and prizes!” Polizzi, 25, told People.
