Week 99 Brain Booster
Have fun with this newfound ability! When you're out to eat and waiting for your order, hide a penny under a napkin. Distract your child for a moment, then quickly move the penny under a cup. See if he first looks under the napkin, and then—once he discovers the penny is missing—continues to look under the table, under a plate, and finally under his cup. He'll be so delighted.
Knowing that objects continue to exist keeps us looking for missing keys, hats, or teddy bears. In fact, even for grownups, it's what makes magicians so fascinating: Although it seems they can make that rabbit disappear, we know it can't be so!
